Upcoming Surgeries

This is the email I just sent out to my family so they knew what is going on with my surgery, so now I'm posting it so my friends can know if anyone is curious. They did decide to do the elbow too.

So the hand surgeon (Naum) did an actual work-up himself and feels we def should do both the elbow and the wrist.  It is likely this will relieve the neck pain. At least until the days degenerate more but that could be 10 years. Or if not, there is still the neck fusion option by the ortho who did my lower back.  But we are hoping this will help.  Surgery is set for 2 weeks.  Oct 27 AM outpatient.  10-15 min small wrist incision, 4 week wrist recovery.  1 hour elbow surgery, larger incision, they will actually move the nerve to a different location in my arm.  10 week recovery.  If I had a job I would be off work 6 weeks ;) but I don't. So praying this helps my neck.  Supposedly these are pretty easy surgeries and not hard to recover from or have a lot of pain after.  A guy in the waiting room had both on Sept 27 and was feeling great no arm brace or anything. I will be fitted for an arm brace myself and they will decide how long I need that once they get in and do the surgeries.
